Energy-Efficiency Upgrades
A free energy survey revealed a number of lighting upgrades that would help a local supermarket save money and energy. Con Edison provided two free CFLs and replaced 57 fluorescent bulbs throughout the store. These simple energy-efficiency improvements are expected to help the supermarket save nearly $7,000 on energy bills annually.
Since Con Edison pays 70% of the cost of recommended improvements, the customer paid only 30% out-of-pocket. Because of the money they are now saving on energy bills, the investment paid for itself in just under four months.
