Energy-Efficiency Upgrades

A free energy survey revealed a number of lighting upgrades that would help a senior center save money and energy. Con Edison provided five free CFLs and replaced over 60 fluorescent bulbs and ballasts. These simple energy-efficiency improvements are expected to help the center save over $2,800 on energy bills.

Since Con Edison pays 70% of the cost of recommended improvements, the center paid only 30% out-of-pocket. Because of the money the center is now saving on energy bills, the investment paid for itself in only five months.
