Energy-Efficiency Upgrades

A free energy survey revealed a number of lighting upgrades and one refrigeration upgrade that would help a local pizzeria save money and energy. Con Edison provided 10 free CFLs and replaced 34 additional fluorescent fixtures and lamps. We also replaced one evaporator fan control to maximize the cooling efficiency of a refrigeration unit.

Since Con Edison paid 70% of the cost of recommended improvements, the customer paid only 30% out-of-pocket. Because of the money they are now saving on energy bills, the investment paid for itself in less than five months.
