Energy-Efficiency Upgrades

A free energy survey revealed a number of lighting upgrades that would help a custom frame shop save money and energy. Con Edison provided 19 free CFLs and replaced 53 fluorescent bulbs and ballasts throughout the facility. These simple energy-efficiency improvements are expected to help the frame shop save nearly $3,000 on energy bills annually.

Since Con Edison pays 70% of the cost of recommended improvements, the customer paid only 30% out-of-pocket. Because of the money the shop is now saving on energy bills, the investment paid for itself in five months.
